Here are the podiums from Round 5 of the Castle Combe Karting Championship.
The morning event saw a rain shower just before the finals which made for some very interesting conditions.
Seb Miller lined up on pole position for the grand final and defended his lead brilliantly throughout the race. There was a 5 kart battle for the lead, but Seb held on to take the victory. Freddie Tocknell drove incredibly, he lined up 3rd on the grid in the C Final and absolutely mastered the conditions. He took a dominant win in the C final, lined up 9th for the B Final to come through and take the win and qualify into the A Final. Another brilliant drive ensued and Freddie charged through into 2nd place and got alongside Seb on the last lap, but wasn’t able to find a way through, taking truly amazing 2nd place from 19th at the end if the heats. Marley Joffe was also on fine form, starting 3rd for the final and challenging Seb for the lead throughout the final just losing out to Freddie on the penultimate lap as he tried to pass Seb for the lead. He completed the podium in 3rd place.
The afternoon event was fully dry and saw Archie Thatcher line up on Pole position and drive away from the battle for 2nd place. He set the fastest lap in the final and went on to take a comfortable victory and make it a second win in a row. Jamie Watson lined up 2nd and held 2nd for the entire race, driving a great race to take 2nd on the podium. Harrison Earl was in 3rd place trying to find a way through into 2nd place but lost out as Championship leader Ryan Taylor pulled a great move to get into 3rd place. Ryan then set about trying to find a way into 2nd place, but wasn’t able to make a move and took the final step of the podium in 3rd place.
